IT support analysis
Candidates should be educated to A-level standard or an equivalent vocational qualification, preferably in an IT related discipline. On the job training will be provided along with external courses where appropriate. Familiarity with the following would be an advantage; programming in a multi-value environment e.g. pick basic /D3, IT hardware - both PC and server architecture, Microsoft server and client software, AIX, Networking - infrastructure. It is important that candidates are prepared to work flexibly. IT support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This might necessitate some periods of flexible working and being part of an out-of-hours rota which can involve responding to calls from off-site and outside of normal office hours. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate good communication skills as the role involves working directly with users to solve technical problems and design new software applications.
